We're celebrating the 60th anniversary of England’s 1966 World Cup win with a special radio station just for today!

There'll be 1966 music back-to-back from midnight - then Paul Burnett, who made his pirate radio debut this glorious year on Radio 270, just off the Yorkshire coast, kicks off the day from 08.00 with some of his memories.

From 10.00, Graham Dene (pictured above with his father Stanley) will reflect on his life as a 17-year old and play the hits of the time.

At noon, a lunchtime special hosted by former BBC broadcaster Garry Richardson with guests including Harry Redknapp who played with England World Cup heroes Bobby Moore, Geoff Hurst and Martin Peters. Garry will also speak to former England cricket captain Graham Gooch who will explain how he came to play football with Bobby Moore, and he’ll be joined by the great Des Lynam.

Then at 2.00, few are better poised than David Hamilton to give his perspective of those times. He'd already interviewed both Cliff and the Beatles and introduced them on stage. He went on to play with many of the Cup Squad in charity games.

Roger Day (pictured in Margate with his mother) will also embrace his love of the beautiful game from 4.00, whilst also marking his 1966 radio debut - on board the pirate radio station Swinging Radio England. Then at 6.00, there’ll be a special programme hosted by the big voice of the mighty Ron O’Quinn who helped to create that offshore station that year – and who accompanied the Beatles on their ’66 US tour.

Peter Quinn picks up at 8.00pm, with David Lloyd closing the day from 10.00 with more '66 music and your memories.
