Charles Nove
Chances are you know the voice of Charles from somewhere. But where? Well, he’s been around British broadcasting since the late seventies, spending many years on the team at BBC Radio 2, including dodging the flying sausages on Sir Terry Wogan’s breakfast show. Perhaps you’ve caught him as the voice of history documentaries online, or announcing the prizes on a few classic tv gameshows, calling numbers on the National Lottery, or as the commentator on the original Come Dancing, before Strictly was even a gleam in anyone’s eye.
Away from the front end of the microphone, Charles ran an audio studio business in London for over 20 years, and he has an abiding interest in transport matters – Aviation (he trained as a private pilot, got the licence and promptly ran out of cash!); Buses (he’s a qualified Transport Manager and is licensed to drive any bus, any size) - and hates being in the sea but loves being on it; having a boat remains an unfulfilled ambition.
On Boom, Charles comes to you from home in the leafy countryside of Leicestershire.
