Malcolm Prince

Malcolm was Paul O’Grady’s radio producer at the BBC where they worked together for twenty years. He was also the launch producer of Elaine Paige on Sunday, Alan Carr and Melanie Sykes’ Saturday Escape, and for a decade, he produced Graham Norton’s hugely successful Saturday morning programme (all Radio 2).
His many documentaries have included biographies of Billy Joel, Celine Dion, Kylie Minogue, and Pet Shop Boys, as well as career retrospectives on Barbra Streisand, Cameron Mackintosh, The Carpenters, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Phil Ramone. His landmark series have included a history of British television with Michael Grade, David Puttnam’s Century of Cinema, and an eight-part celebration of musical theatre hosted by Julia McKenzie, Whoopi Goldberg and Siân Phillips.
While at Radio 2 Malcolm was also the Executive Producer of Steve Wright In The Afternoon, Wake Up to Wogan and Claudia Winkleman’s Art Show.
Malcolm left the BBC in 2022 and published Not The Same Without You - his tribute to Paul O’Grady – in 2025. He lives not far from Folkestone in Kent.
