Steve was a pirate radio presenter, out at sea on board Radio Caroline, Radio Mi Amigo, and Radio Atlantis – before returning to Piccadilly Radio in Manchester as commercial radio began in the UK.

As a lover of sung jingles for radio stations, it was natural that his next venture would be to set up Alfasound, the company which produced the jingles which would dominate UK radio for a generation.

Now largely retired, he can’t help still dipping his toe in the waters of radio – and playing some of his beloved jingles!
