Bill was brought up in Leeds and Liverpool, trained at West Midlands College and began his career at the Birmingham Rep and Pebble Mill TV Centre.

Then followed many years as a music, arts and news presenter for the BBC and Independent Radio, with much voice-overs work, alongside many stage and screen performances - taking any Shakespeare roles he could.

Most of his current work is on radio, with occasional stage and television appearances.
